Requesting Prayer For A Friend
"Doc" and I last summer
Please pray for Lars Gren. Those of you who have followed my blog for a while have heard about my year with the Grens and how dear they are to me. Lars and Elisabeth spent Christmas with us and I haven't seen them since then, but had tickets to visit them at the beginning of next month. Last Tuesday, they were in a very serious car accident while driving to Texas. Since they were in the back seat, Elisabeth and her caregiver Joy were miraculously unharmed--PRAISE GOD!--But he's in the intensive care surgical unit with a fractured neck and several fractured ribs, among other injuries. I spoke with him a few minutes ago and he came through surgery ok but is in VERY rough condition and it's hard to even understand his speech. Thanks be to God, there's no paralyses. But there's a long road of recovery ahead with a lot of questions for the future.
Here because I received a comment from a fellow blogger today telling me about this accident and not much more. I will certainly be in prayer for Mr.Gren and for dear Elisabeth, too. I am bookmarking that I might find you again for updates. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping in, Vee, and I will certainly post updates. God bless you for your prayers!
ReplyDeleteAdding Mr. Gren to my prayers as well.
ReplyDeleteDani,
ReplyDeleteThat is so very sad!! Glad that Elizabeth and her caregiver weren't hurt and will pray for Lars when God brings him to my mind!!
Hi Dani!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be praying for them.

ReplyDeleteJulia!!! I'm so glad you commented! I've been trying to call you for WEEKS and the numbers I have aren't working. I'm even calling the one you left on my voice mail but it just says your voicemail box "has not been set up" and it disconnects me. Call me again so we can talk. I misssss you! :(
ReplyDeleteLars and Elizabeth are also dear, dear friends of ours for 22 years. Please let me know where Lars and Elizabeth are. Is Valerie coming to help with her mom? Please let me be a friend so I can get on your blog. Kay Hill
ReplyDeleteMrs. Hill,
ReplyDeleteMr. Gren talked about you often! He asked me to contact a few ppl but I don't have your address. Click on my profile to the left and you'll see a place to email me under my picture. Pls. Send me a note and I'll write back!
Hello Danielle,
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting information about the Grens. My wife, Abigail, has loved Elisabeth since she was a young girl, and in June 2010 we had the privilege of visiting them in their home and singing for her. (Abigail and I and our nine children travel full time singing in churches all over America.) We then went to a small seafood restaurant for a meal. It was a treasure that none of the Millers will forget.
Last night Abigail when to their website to read a devotional and learned about the accident. We were both stunned. We appreciate you keeping us all up to date on Lars' progress. May the Lord bless you richly!

Dani,
ReplyDeleteI am a woman, one year younger than Elisabeth;live in the town where the care facility is that she is now in; met her last week. She is well-cared for and is well. That is about all I can tell you right now.
Thank you, friend, for your note! Yesterday I was able to talk with Elisabeth on the phone a little bit with the help of her friend Maureen who was there and it sounds like she's doing REALLY well. Praise the Lord! I know that Lars has been missing her a lot but is happy to know that she's being so well cared for and they'll be together soon. :) Thanks again for stopping in and leaving such a kind little note.
