Lover of All, I hold me fast by Thee,
Ruler of time, King of Eternity
There is no great with Thee, there is no small,
For Thou art all, and fillest all in all.
The newborn world swings forth at Thy command,
The falling dewdrop falls into Thy hand.
God of the firmament's mysterious powers
I see Thee thread the minutes of my hours.
-Amy Carmichael
Didn't God give her such a way w/ words? I have a few books of her poems and thoughts and they are simple to comprehend (I confess that poetry often boggles my mind!)yet more and more profound w/ every reading. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bethany! Yeah, she had an amazing way with words. And quit disparaging yourself... I'll bet you're the NEXT Amy Carmichael.... the "Amy Carmichael of Africa!" ;)
ReplyDeleteDani,
ReplyDeleteYour stories and "pics" make this Pappaw HOMESICK to see those sweet, adorable, lovable GRANDS!!!!!
Now, if I could just somehow get Nate to fly here to Provo......maybe we could head to Nome ourselves!!!!!!!
So glad you ALL got to spend some time there.
And dear Grandpa...what a man.
Glad he got to go along for this memorable trip.
Love sent your way from here in warm (82 degrees @ 9 p.m.)Providenciales.
PLEASE convey the same to the rest of the family.
